GIII Fort Lauderdale Stakes is a Star-Studded turfer | PP’s,Picks,Posts,M/L Odds

GIII Fort Lauderdale Stakes is the other Saturday feature at Gulfstream Park

The $100,000, GIII Fort Lauderdale Stakes is an oddly, star-studded, turfing tilt this Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

Free PP’s  for both the Hal’s Hope and Ft. Lauderdale Stakes!

A field of 12 older boys was drawn for this 1 1/16 mile turfing tussle with an odd collection of 2011 Breeders’ Cup runners, past Derby winning want-to-be’s, an oversea’s shipper and some good turfing names from 2011 all coming out for their first turf test of the new year.

Here are some names you’ll probably know in this odd mix of starters,

Flat Out, the morning line fave for last Fall’s Breeders’ Cup Classic, probably just a Donn Hcp tune-up for him here!

Teaks North, with multiple G/S turfing wins last year, who is better at the longer turf distances!

Mambo Meister, switching surfaces again, dirt or turf is fine by him as long as it’s a South Florida tussle!

Mutual Trust, who made a left turn out of a Grp – 1 turfer somewhere in Europe and ended up here, bounce or no bounce for this euro-invader here, toss a coin!

Santiva and Uptowncharlybrown both former triple-crown runners in their respective 3yo seasons pondering “turf careers”? Hmmm!

So lets meet the rest of the boys in this cast of turfing misfits and wanderers!

Post, Horse, M/L Odds,

1. Uptowncharlybrown - 15/1

2. Santiva - 20/1

3. Guys Reward - 12/1

4. Yummy With Butter - 10/1

5. Mutual Trust - 3/1

6. Mambo Meister - 12/1

7. Teaks North -  8/1

8. Flat Out - 6/1

9. Hollinger - 8/1

10. Silver Medallion - 4/1

11. Hoofit - 15/1

12. Kindergarden Kid - 12/1

Post time will be 4:45 pm est!

Teaks North and Mutual Trust will carry 123 lbs into this race, 121 lbs for Kintergarden Kid, Silver Medallion and Yummy with Butter, 119 lbs for Flat Out and everyone else at 117lbs!

Picks are – 3,4,6,7 bx’d exacta with 12,5,10 in a super as well!

* Note – we don’t have a lot of faith in these picks as again we have another early season turfer here where any outcome is quite possible! So the super payout here could be Grand!

So again, on Saturday, Gulfstream Park is indeed getting there $100,000 worth out of what would be a GI field later on in the turfing season this year!

This will be very good one but a little on the odd-side with cast of stars, everyone!
