Hansen, the “great white hope” of last Nov. for Triple Crown glory this year, never quite lived up to the hype or at least not thru the first half of 2012 anyway, is back this Saturday evening in the $250,000, GIII Iowa Derby, going a mile and 1/16th at Prairie Meadows Racetrack.

In a field of just “5″, Hansen is the 2/5 M/L favorite as he does appear to be tops in this year’s Iowa Derby class of 2012!

At 4/1 is Alsvid, the local talent here on Saturday evening with a pair of nice stakes wins in the Prairie Meadow’s 2 prep races for their signature 3yo event of the season!

At 8/1 are Hero of Order and Truetap.

Hero of Order is the $1,000,000, GII Louisiana Derby shocking winner at 109/1 down at the Fair Grounds earlier this spring holding off Mark Valeski.

Truetap, is runner-up to Alsvid in that same latest prep here at Prairie Meadows.

and at 15/1 is a stable mate of Hero of Order in Macho Bull , who’s lukewarm resume very much warrants these 15/1 odds!
